Requirements for Appointment
• Must have served in Agriculture Department for at least 15 years with at least 3 years in higher managerial position;
• Must have served as Deputy Director of Agriculture or Assistant Director of Agriculture for at least three (3) years;
• A Bachelor of Science degree (BSc.) in any of the following fields: Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Home Economics, Agribusiness Agriculture Extension, Agriculture Extension, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Education or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya;
• A Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines will be an added advantage: Agriculture & Rural Development, Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Economics, Natural Resource Management, Home Economics, Agribusiness Agriculture Extension, Agriculture Extension, Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Education or any other relevant and equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Attended a Strategic Leadership course in a recognized institution;
• Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution; and
• Demonstrated a high degree of administrative capability, technical and professional competence as reflected in work performance and results.
