JOB DETAILS:
A. Department Of Lands, Physical Planning, Housing And Urban Development

1. County Director Of Surveys And Mapping, JOB GROUP CPSB 03 (1 POST)

Overall Responsibility
Responsible for all matters relating to Land surveying within the County Government.

Specific Duties And Responsibilities
i. Implementation of National Land Surveying and mapping Policies in the County.
ii. Establishing of 3rd to 4th order geodetic control network.
iii. Carrying out preliminary quality control of cadastral surveys for urban parcels and other Lands owned by County Government.
iv. Submission of reports on the status of the County boundary. V. Maintenance and provision of up to date geospatial data including:
a. The identification, inspection and maintenance of boundaries of Public Land vested in or
held by the County in collaboration with National Land Commission.
b. Carrying out large area cadastral surveys for urban plots for purposes of lease titles. c. Inspection and verification of Land parcel boundaries for development control. d. Setting out and carrying out built surveys of County Government infrastructure e. The deformation monitoring of County Government infrastructure.
f. The verification of surveys for the design and construction alignment of County
Government infrastructure and Engineering Works. vi. Prepare and certify base maps for physical and Land use planning and infrastructure
development within the County.
vii. Provide comments on development application in relation to Land Surveys as provided
in Section 60 (1) of the Physical and Land use Planning Act 2019 and any other written Law.
viii. Establishment and maintenance of parcel-based Country geospatial information system
ix. Establishment and maintenance of a County spatial data infrastructure.
x. Ensuring survey equipment procured by the County are calibrated.
xi. Any other duties that may be assigned by the Chief Officer.

Requirements For Appointment
i. Be a Kenyan Citizen. ii. Hold a Bachelor's Degree in any of the following disciplines: - Land Surveying and
Photogrammetry, Geomatic Engineering, Technology in Geomatics Technology in Geo informatics, Geo-spatial Engineering, and Philosophy in Technology (Su vey) from a
recognized Institution.
iii. Be a Full Member of the Institute of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK) and in good standing
iv. A registration with Land Surveyors Board will be an added advantage.
v. Have at least Seven (7) years' working experience.
vi.Certificate in Senior Management Course or its equivalent from a recognized Institution.
vii. Certificate in Computer Applications. Certificate in Geographical Information System (GIS) and/remote sensing.
viii. Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity
ix. Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
