Consultant (Strategic Plan)
MI seeks to recruit an experienced and competent consultant to lead the process of developing the new 5-year Strategic Plan for the period 2023-2027. The consultant will provide technical, strategic and facilitation support to draft the strategic plan and develop a work plan to guide its development.
Responsibilities
• Provide detailed analysis of existing BMI vision/mission statements, and current plans, and propose revisions
• Design a process for developing the BMI strategic plan, based on the BMI shared vision and focused on the BMI mission
• Propose a suitable overarching framework for the BMI strategic plan: set a roadmap with goals, objectives, actions, and accountabilities for the institution and its people activities, actions, and accountabilities for the institution and its people
• Provide metrics to measure attainment of BMI goals
• Propose strategies, tactics, and actions needed to achieve the plan
• Propose annual and multi-year budgets for implementing the plan
• Suggest risk planning strategies including mitigation plans to ensure the plan stays viable and can be implemented
• Provide an implementation plan that enables the achievement of goals
• Plan and facilitate sessions through a BMI retreat and virtual meetings with the BMI team to prioritize the strategic directions
• Document and synthesize the meeting outcomes
• Draft and finalize the strategic plan and provide supportive documents for ensuing operational plan for the Institute
• Receive feedback from the BMI leadership and revise strategic plan accordingly

Requirements
• Proven experience in the design, facilitation, and documentation of strategic plans
• Understanding of the Theory of Change approach
• Demonstrated experience in working with academic institutions of higher education
• Good written and oral communications skills in English
• Skills in facilitation of stakeholder engagements/workshops
• At least 5 years of professional experience

Level of Education: Bachelor Degree
