JOB DETAILS:

Purpose of consultancy
To contribute to the planning and development of a competency-based framework for eye care, focused on high demand purposes such as refractive error care, and to the planning and development of evidence-based vision and eye health screening handbook covering relevant periods across the life course.

Deliverables:
Contribute to the planning and development of an adapted competency framework for eye care, focused on high demand purposes such as refractive error care.
• Collaborate with the WHO Vision and Eye Care Programme to establish a technical working group to contribute to the development of the adapted eye care competency framework;
• Contribute to the development of a draft eye care competency framework focused on refractive error care;
• Contribute to the development of an operational plan for the pilot testing of the adapted framework in 2 countries from 2 WHO regions.

Contribute to the planning and development of evidence-based vision and eye health screening handbook covering relevant periods across the life course.
• Collaborate with the WHO Vision and Eye Care Programme to establish a technical working group to contribute to the development of the screening handbook;
• Contribute to the development of a draft vision screening handbook and organize a peer review process to obtain expert feedback.

Qualifications, experience, skills and languages
Educational Qualifications:
Essential:
• First University degree in one of the specialties of eye care.
• Advanced university degree in public health or a related field.

Experience
Essential:
• Over 5 years of experience in an eye care related field.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and collaboration in the field of public health.

Skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
