Water Resources Authority is a State Corporation in the Ministry of Water and Sanitation, established pursuant to Section 11 of the Water Act 2016. The Management of WRA wishes to identify and recruit a capable officer in the following position above;

Community Development Function
The Community Development function is responsible for the development and enforcement of regulations on establishment and operation of Water Resources Users Associations (WRUAs) and relevant stakeholders in water resources.
Job Summary
The Community Development Officer will report to the Senior Community Development Officer. .
Duties and Responsibilities
• Assisting in developing framework for community engagement;
• Assisting in capacity Development of communities and stakeholders on water resources;
• Assisting in mobilizing partners and resources to support community investments through proposal preparations;
• Assisting in regulating the development of sub basin plans;
• Assisting in regulating the activities of Water Resources Users Association and stakeholders on matters related to Water Resources Management;
• Preparation of reports;
• Assisting in engaging WRUAs in the collaborative management of water resources and resolution of conflicts on the use of water resources;
• Updating the WRUA and stakeholder database;
• Linkage between the County Government and the Authority in soil and water conservation initiatives and water resources programs

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Sociology, Social Work, Community Development, Environmental Science, Project Planning, Development Studies or related field from a recognized institution; and
• Proficiency in computer applications.
In addition to the above qualifications ALL candidates MUST fulfill the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 which include: -
• Certificate of good conduct from the Director of Criminal Investigations;
• Clearance from the Director of Public Prosecutions;
• Clearance from Higher Education Loans Board;
• Clearance from Kenya Revenue Authority;
• Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau; and
• Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission
Terms of Service and Remuneration
Successful candidates will serve on probation for a minimum period of six (6) months and later be translated to permanent and pensionable terms based on performance.
