Role Overview
The Village Capital Communications team uses creative and strategic tools to articulate Village Capital’s mission and amplify our programs. The team is responsible for creating and coordinating all communications materials across web, digital, e-mail, PR, speaking opportunities and more.

Responsibilities
Reporting to the Director of Communications, you will be a key member of the Communications team and will have the following responsibilities. We are looking for a Communications Associate to help our team build more efficient systems and processes:
• Creation of program collateral: You will work with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate the creation of program materials, based on templates. This includes but is not limited to webpages, press releases, social media toolkits and metrics reports.
• Coordinating contractor deliverables: You will work directly with a variety of contractors (graphic designers, web developers, freelance writers, translators and others) to execute on deliverables
• Creation of management systems: You will support the Communications team in creating and embedding a system that effectively supports team members
• Track and report on comms metrics: You will spend time tracking and reporting performance data to prioritize channels, optimize cost-effectiveness, iterate campaign tactics and build best practices;
• Website coordination: Assist in website and collateral material design and day-to-day management and maintenance

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit communications, public affairs, journalism, or a related field;
• At least 1 year of applicable operational work experience, preferably at a non-profit or start-up
• Fluency in English is required. Additional language skills (especially Spanish) are considered a plus.
• Experience in creating and managing systems, structures, procedures, processes
• Experience and/or interest in using software and tools such as Hubspot, Adobe Sparks, Canva/Stencil, MailChimp, Hootsuite/Sprout Social, and Google Analytics are highly desirable.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and execute them in coordination with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; s ensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics
• Interest/curiosity in basic HTML for website management (experience with CMS platforms like Hubspot or WordPress is a plus!)
• Interest/Experience/Curiosity in using project management tools like Airtable, Trello or others
• Fluent in (and passionate about) Google docs / keeping things organized and on track – learning new features and using tools that already exist
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and ability to work well under pressure with tight
