JOB DETAILS:
This advertisement is intended to suitably qualified candidate who would like to be considered to be appointed in the position of group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - in a reputable Academy with two campuses, one in Nairobi and the other in Mombasa. It is a new position. The group CEO will report to the Board of Directors. He/she will be expected to provide impeccable leadership for the two campuses. The Academy has been in existence for over fifty years offering Cambridge International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE curriculum). The Academy sponsors are looking for a leader of impeccable record in academia or corporate world who has enthusiasm for extraordinary leadership challenges to reposition the Academy as a leader in the academic industry.
The holder will oversee the work of subject matter experts - teachers and administrators at both campuses and propose expansion. The successful candidate will provide reference points. for heads of schools in each campus. Plans are in the offing for establishing a third campus outside Nairobi. The Board is looking for a candidate with a track record in leadership and governance excellence. The candidate will be visionary and dynamic with exemplary achievements credentials. The Board expects an energetic person of impeccable character. Remunerations package attached to this role is generous and competitive.
Specific Duties And Responsibilities:
• Lead the development of the organization's long- and short-term strategies.
• Provide leadership for delivery of the curriculum.
• Work with heads of academic stages and operations function for effective management campuses.
• Oversee effective management organization's resources- time, talent, technology, and budget.
• Negotiate or approve agreements and contracts for the organization.
• Manage company organizational structure. Communicate with the board of directors.
• Work with operations leaders to assess and minimize risks to the organization.
• Ensure establishment and candid implementation of strategic periodic strategic plans.
• Serve as the primary spokesperson for the campuses.
• Identify and address leadership challenges that arise from time to time.
• Develop and uphold the company's culture and mission/vision.
• Be the link between campuses and the Board of Directors.
• Attend the Board of Directors meeting as an ex-official.
• Present campus budgets and operations and Evaluate and track the success of the company in milestones reports to the Board reaching its goals.
Role Specifications:
Master's Degree or higher in education or management with a minimum of 10 years' work experience. Strong management acumen and demonstrated organizational capabilities in academia or corporate world with experience in leading project teams to achieve organizational strategic goals and experience in risk management. Member of a professional body
