Invitation for Application for Membership of the County Assembly of Embu Audit Committee
Pursuant to Sections 73(5) and 155 of the Public Finance Management Act, 2012, The Public Finance Management (County Government) Regulations, 2015 and Audit Committee Guidelines for County Governments, the County Assembly Service Board of Embu invites applications from suitably qualified Kenyans for the position of Chairperson, County Assembly of Embu Audit Committee-(1 Position) .

Qualifications
Interested candidates should have a minimum of a Degree from a recognized university and have knowledge and experience of not less than 5 years in the following fields:
• Accounting/Auditing/Finance
• Economics
• Security/Risk Management
• Law
Other requirements
Members of the Audit Committee shall:
• Have a good understanding of the County Governments operations, financial management and reporting or auditing:
• Have a good understanding of the objectives, principles and functions of the County Assembly of Embu;
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution;
• Affiliate to professional bodies e.g. ICPAK, ICPSK, ACFE, LSK, 11A, IEK or any other relevant body and being such a member of good standing will be an added advantage.
NOTE:
I. Members of the Audit Committee shall serve on part-time basis for a period of three years and shall be eligible for re-appointment for a further
II. one term only.
III. The allowances payable to members of the Audit committee shall be determined by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
IV. A person shall NOT be qualified for appointment as a member of The Audit Committee if that person: -
a) Is a past or present employee of County Assembly of Embu,
b) Have served as an employee or an agent of a business organization which has carried out any business with County Assembly of Embu for the last two years.
iv) All applicants should attach copies of current clearance from Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), Higher Education's Loans Board (HELB), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA), Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), and Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) to their application.
