Fabrication & Maintenance Supervisor

About the role,

We seek to recruit a Maintenance Technician/ Fabrication supervisor who will be in charge of all operations at the fabrication workshop & maintenance of all Fresh life assets, including equipment and vehicles. The goal is to reduce the  MTTR (Mean Time to Repair), increase the MTBF (Mean Time Between Failure), and reduce the overall maintenance cost.  

Supervisory role:

As a Fabrication supervisor, the role holder will be in charge of all operations at the fabrication workshop. This includes concrete, wood, and metal fabrication sections. 

Duties and Responsibilities

Key Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities  

  1. Execute preventative maintenance program in accordance with the provided schedule on all equipment, building, and machinery.
  2. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test, and make adjustments to equipment & tools as required. Equipment and tools include motors, gearboxes, pneumatic systems, coupling and motor alignment, roller chain/sprockets, conveyor systems, and production machines. Troubleshoots malfunctions and complies with NEC standards on wiring and installations.
  3. Continuously & intentionally build the operators' skills to conduct quality Autonomous and Preventive Maintenance on their own.
  4. Liaise with the Maintenance Lead in adopting the problem-solving tools (RCAs,  5Why, RAPID) & coach operators on the adoption.  
  5. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.  
  6. Optimizes maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies to accomplish job results. 
  7. Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting actions, communicating irregularities, and scheduling repair as appropriate. 
  8. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  9. Record and maintain up-to-date maintenance records,  including up-to-date maintenance spare part inventory log, and plan for replacement of all used parts/lubricants.  
  10. Continue to grow lean knowledge and use the tools to identify and assist with continuous improvement.

Key Process Supervision Key Duties and Responsibilities 

Work planning and execution 

  • Ensure that toilet parts are fabricated as per the work instructions. 
  • Assign tasks to team members as per the work orders.
  • Ensure that tasks assigned to the team are performed satisfactorily and on time.
  • Provide instructions and directions to the team during daily scrum meetings.
  • Plan and execute projects geared towards improving efficiency of the fabrication process.

Facility management

  • Monitor and ensure that all fabrication safety procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that maintenance schedules for the fabrication facility and equipment are strictly adhered to.
  • Ensure malfunctioning equipment is repaired in order to provide a safe working environment.

Team management

  • Maintain discipline, high morale and good personnel relations among the team.
  • Evaluate and complete biweekly performance appraisals of the fabrication team employees.
  • Plan and conduct team training and coaching activities in order to improve performance.

Inventory and budget management

  • Submit and reconcile the weekly budget on time.
  • Submit and reconcile material requisition and tracking forms on time. 

Collaboration with other teams

  1. Provide assistance to other teams in hosting site visits.
  2. Attend all scheduled meetings and company functions as required.
  3. Undertake other assigned duties and projects as required

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical / Automotive Engineering.  
  • 3+ years of general maintenance and process supervision experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance and Reliability Centered Maintenance will be preferred.  
  • Strong knowledge of machines and equipment maintenance.  
  • Vehicle maintenance and repair capabilities.  
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.  
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.  
  • Good knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations
  • Flexibility and willingness to work overtime as required and willingness to work varied shifts which may include evenings and weekends
  • Proficient in MS 

Talent Partner

About the role

The Talent Partner will align business objectives with employees and management in designated business units.  She/He/They will serve as a consultant to management on Talent & Human Related issues, act as a change agent and employee champion. She/He/They will partner with the business function by collaborating with the leadership team to develop and implement the talent plans and solutions in order to achieve and deliver the strategic goals defined for the business.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Partner with the business function by aligning and executing with respect to people objectives for the business in order to deliver effectively on the functional objectives:
  2. Translate the business requirement for the functional team into effective HR practices in order to deliver people-related solutions aligned to the objectives of the business area
  3. Partner with the business in the execution of initiatives like talent review, performance management, recruitment and talent development
  4. Influence and work along with the leadership team around people's agenda and issues in order to build a high-performance culture
  5. Implement the annual Strategic Talent plan to support the strategic business goals and objectives
  6. Facilitate change and transformation initiatives by driving change initiatives across the business area
  7. Facilitate and apply the agreed change management approach to initiatives, tools and techniques in delivering effective organizational and cultural change in the Business area.
  8. Help in effective organizational structure design in order to develop the organization and support the changes
  9. Improve overall people effectiveness of the business by implementing the right HR policies and processes in order to improve productivity and efficiency including:
  10. Provide people management advice, guidance and support to the managers in order to help them manage team conflicts or issues effectively
  11. Advise and educate employees on HR and ER policies and procedures to ensure code of conduct
  12. Implement people processes and practices and ensure that they are legally compliant and fairly applied
  13. Act as the first line of contact for any employee relations issues in order to resolve them on time
  14. Support, develops and coach line managers to manage employee relations issues, using FLI Talent policies and procedure
  15. Implement the Performance management and salary review process for the employees in order to track the employee progress and facilitate the rewarding process to include:
  16. Implement and administer the performance management process for the employees ensuring effective goal setting at the beginning of the year followed by performance reviews conducted on time
  17. Manage the STI (Short Term Incentive) process, including calibration meetings.
  18. Manage the submission to the Finance Department to ensure payment.
  19. Manage the annual salary review process and increments along with the managers 
  20. Work with line managers to agree on how to distribute the salary budget across the business areas in order to ensure effective distribution of the budgets

Qualifications

Key skills and experience required

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Human Resource Management or Business related field
  • At least 3 years of experience covering all processes of HR and the ability to interact with the senior leadership team 
  • Previous experience as an HR Business Partner working with front-line workers is desired.
  • Be an excellent team player/collaborator with excellent communication skills
  • Have demonstrated the ability to act decisively and resolve problems
