Objective of the Programme

DAI Global UK is preparing for multiple FCDO funded programmes focussing on climate policy, climate finance and nature. The programmes are a mix of regional and country specific projects. This call for experts is with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa. We welcome interest though from with experts with experience in Central, South and South-East Asia, and South America.

Key expertise areas include, but are not exclusive of:

  • Climate policy- advising on the development of climate policy, including integrating climate into “non-climate” strategies, plans and budgets, working with government to identify resources and secure collaboration
  • Climate and nature finance- advising governments on pipeline and pre-pipeline development, scoping and supporting financial investment strategies, knowledge of climate finance mechanisms and applications
  • Climate Transparency requirements- building capacity of stakeholders to meet reporting requirements under the Paris Agreement and other international and national commitments
  • Climate change policy and agreements at international, national and subnational levels
  • Working directly with government counterparts to build capacity, knowledge and expertise related to climate and nature
  • Climate resilience investment, green finance
  • Political economy analysis, thinking and working politically
  • Gender and social inclusion
  • Conflict and fragility
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning, including reporting against ICF KPIs
  • Monitoring, Reporting and Verification

Roles and Skill-Sets

  •  Team Leadership and management of large, multi-country complex donor-funded programmes

 Policy Advisors

  •  Experts / consultants in the areas and themes aforementioned
  •  Experience of implementing either country or regional donor-funded projects, with experience of working in Sub-Sahara Africa, Central, South and South East Asia or South America.
  •  Proficient in English language, spoken and written, dual language desirable

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in relevant areas including: climate change, climate finance, natural resources management, policy, economics
