JOB DETAILS:
Role Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Governance and Strategy, Colleague Conduct will support the implementation of the Colleague Conduct strategy, working on discrete change initiatives, supporting preparations for regulatory submissions and key governance committees, and proactively contributing to day-to-day activities across the Colleague Conduct function. The Associate Director will role model good conduct at SCB and will advocate for continuous process improvements and adoption of New Ways of Working (NWOW) across all Colleague Conduct areas (Conduct and Ethics, ABC, Governance and Strategy). The Associate Director will also work closely with peers to promote collaboration and Psychological Safety across the Colleague Conduct team and beyond.
Strategy
• Support the delivery of key documents and submissions per the Colleague Conduct governance calendar, to ensure all internal and regulatory commitments are met.
• Contribute to audit and assurance management, including document collation and remediation plan tracking.
• Contribute to discrete change initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders from across the Group (e.g. embedding Talent Marketplace, AI and data visualisation experimentation, and Intermediaries Governance Enhancements).
• Support the broader Colleague Conduct team in maintaining and updating Policies, Standards and Country Addendums.
• Support colleagues in proactively identifying opportunities to improve the quality and effectiveness of processes and procedures across Colleague Conduct.
• Support the Colleague Conduct learning agenda through contributing to and hosting knowledge sharing sessions on areas of expertise.
Business
• Responsible for establishing and maintaining good relationships with peers across multiple businesses and functions, providing advice and escalating concerns relating to conduct, ABC, and ethics as required / appropriate.
• Assist the broader Governance and Strategy team in ensuring that Colleague Conduct activities are aligned with SCB’s bank-wide vision, strategy, and goals, and that they uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
Processes
• Supports the Governance and Strategy team in identifying and implementing process enhancements (including automation) across the Colleague Conduct programme.
• Advocate for the broader use of NWOW collaboration tools to enhance process efficiency.
• Contribute to the definition of impactful MI across Colleague Conduct, gathering requirements, providing testing and signoff support, and implementing ongoing feedback mechanisms to support continuous improvement.
People and Talent
• Conduct and ethics role model, leading by example to embed appropriate culture and values.
• Promotes and contributes to a culture of openness, trust, and risk awareness, where ethical, legal, regulatory and policy compliant conduct is the norm.
• Promote collaborative, inclusive, effective, and efficient workplace practices at all times.

• Hold colleagues and People Leaders to account where they do not meet expectations in any of the above.
Risk Management
• Responsible for the identification and timely resolution and / or escalation of risks and issues to their people leader.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives (including remediation measures) aimed at enhancing Conduct risk management across SCB.
Governance
• Support delivery against the Colleague Conduct governance calendar, to ensure all internal and regulatory commitments are met.
• Contribute to audit and assurance management, including document collation and remediation plan tracking.
• Proactively identify and escalate ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of governance oversight across the Colleague Conduct programme.
• Contribute to specialist SCB management governance papers as required.
Regulatory & Business Conduct
• Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
• Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
• Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct, and compliance matters.
• Proactively monitor updates from SCB regulators (e.g. FCA, PRA, MAS, The Fed, SEC etc.) and follows industry trends and developments. Apply any relevant knowledge gained when performing the role.

Our Ideal Candidate
• >5 years relevant experience, preferable in compliance at a large Financial Services organization.
• Good understanding of banking operations, functions, processes, risks, threats, and internal controls.
• Good written and communication skills; with good knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel.
• Achieved / working towards CISI L3 Compliance qualification or similar would be beneficial.
• Strong collaboration skills, and ability to work effectively in a complex multicultural and multi-time zone organization.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Risk Management, English / English Literature, Business Management or similar.
