We are seeking to recruit a competent and highly motivated individual with extensive experience and abilities to support business growth in the following position:

ASSISTANT MANAGER PROJECTS
The successful candidate will be provide end-to-end project management support to all bank initiatives by ensuring that projects are completed and implemented within set project guidelines and timelines for I&M Group.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Incumbent will report to the Manager-Projects and will be responsible for:
• Conducting Business Analysis and projecting requirements in conjunction with the respective stakeholders
• Engaging with business units before project initiation to help clarify and formalize on the project goals, objectives, and scope
• Preparing business cases and proposals in liaison with business process owners
• Creating and executing project work plans and revising them as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, in liaison with project leadership
• Designing the vendor selection and appraisal process in liaison with project stakeholders
• Liaising with stakeholders to develop and negotiate project contracts
• Assisting in preparation of project budgets and monitoring expenses to ensure that the project costs are within budget and escalating any variances
• Overseeing the project consultants to ensure the banks requirements are met
• Reviewing and recommending system changes and Configuration Management as informed by Business specifications and requirements
• Managing project communication in line with the project communications protocol
• Maintaining and managing relationships between project stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met
• Providing the Project team, Management, Stakeholders and Sponsors with updates on overall project status and issues that may impact the delivery of the project within agreed timelines
• Tracking project progress in terms of scope, time and cost and raising alerts with remedial measures
• Developing process flows and reviewing procedures and controls impacted by specific projects in liaison with process owners
• Managing project quality by developing specific test strategy, guiding the development of test cases for UAT, facilitating the planning, management, execution and signoff of User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in line with Bank testing framework
• Coordinating / Liaising with vendors to document, monitor, resolve and close escalated issues
• Preparing project status reports and escalating issues requiring intervention of project stakeholders
• Maintaining the project RAID log on an ongoing basis, and implement risk mitigation plans as approved by Steering Committee
• Planning and monitoring go live preparations including migration of data, user access and hand-holding support by the vendor in line with the agreements.
• Facilitating project closure and handover

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business/ Computer Science/ Information Technology from a recognized institution
• PMP / Prince2/ Member of Associate of Kenya Institute of Bankers or its equivalent
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in project execution

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent coordination, planning and organization skills
• Ability to exercise individual judgment and initiative
• Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
