JOB DETAILS:

Duties and Responsibilities
• Collecting baseline data for irrigation development;
• Organizing farmer’s meetings for irrigation participatory development;
• Identifying irrigation sites for irrigation technology demonstration plots;
• Training irrigation farmers on sustainable scheme management and resource mobilization;
• Setting up of demonstration plots;
• Identifying irrigation schemes for development;
• Topographical surveying of soil and water harvesting structures;
• Participating in field days, open days, exhibition and shows;
• Preparing work plans and budgets;
• Any other duties assigned by the supervisor;

Requirements for Appointment
• Kenyan Citizen
• Must be in possession of a Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Agricultural Engineering/Soil and Water Engineering/ Irrigation or Surveying preferably from Kenya Water Institute (KEWI) or equivalent recognized institution.
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field will be an added advantage
• Having at least 1-year practical experience will be an added advantage.
• Certification in CAD applications.


Work Hours: 8

Experience in Months: 12

Level of Education: Postgraduate Degree
