Job Descriptions
An officer at this level will be responsible for:-
• Coordinating research activities on nomadic education in Kenya;
• Overseeing analysis and publication of information relating to the basic education of marginalized and nomadic communities;
• Overseeing organization and facilitating in sensitization workshops, meeting and sessions on the mandate of the Council and amongst stakeholders;
• Validating and approving publication material of the organization;
• Liaising with other organizations involved in matters of advocacy with a view to conducting joint initiatives;
• Establishing linkages and collaborations with stakeholders; and
• Coordinating formulation and implementation of advocacy strategic plans and programmes in accordance with the Council’s mandate.
• Approving template to capture the necessary key information concerning nomadic education;
• Identifying innovative ideas through research which have practical significance to the Council’s mandate and documentation;
• Spearheading creation of reliable statistic of nomads and their school- aged children and establishing a data bank; and
• Supervising, training, developing mentoring staff under him/her.

Person Descriptions
For appointment to this grade an officer must have:-
•
o Served in the grade of Principal Research Officer for a minimum period of three (3) years;
OR
• served in public service organization or any other reputable organization for at least ten (10) years, three (3) of which should be in a management position;
• Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Education, Statistics, Economics, Community Development, Anthropology, Sociology, Psychology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines:- Education, Statistics, Economics, Community Development, Business Administration, Public Policy, Social Work, Anthropology, Sociology or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Certificate in Leadership/Management Course lasting not less than four
• (4) weeks from recognized institution; and
• Proficiency in computer applications
