3. Assistant Conservancies Officer, JOB GROUP CPSB 09 (1POST)
The Officer reports to the Deputy Director Research and Conservation and will be charged with overall responsibility of promoting Community Based Wildlife Conservation and Ecotourism Development within the County.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Liaise the Communities and the County Government in Conservation issues.
o Carry out Conservation awareness creation activities among Communities.
o Develop Tourism Plan for the newly established Conservancies. Assist Conservancies to write proposals in order to access donor funding.
o Management and supervision of Conservancy Vehicles within his/her jurisdiction in
o Liaison with the Supervisor.
o Develop budgets and work plans for Conservancies fund in liaison with the Deputy Director.
o Ensure all records for each Conservancy is well kept and maintained.
o Perform any other duty assigned by the Supervisor and other Senior Officers in the Department.
Requirements For Appointment
• Be a Kenyan Citizen.
• Possess a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Management, Conservation Biology, Natural Resource Management or any other related field from a recognized Institution.
• Be Computer literate.
• Experience of working with Pastoral Communities in Conservation.
• At least one (1) year experience in relevant field. Good Interpersonal and Communication Skills.
• Ease to interact with the Local Communities.
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 on Leadership and Integrity.
Certificate of Good Conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigation
Clearance Certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Clearance from the Ethics & Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC)
d. Clearance from Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
