JOB DETAILS:
Opportunity
The Operations manager is fully accountable for P&L and operations of the Warehousing and Distribution for all sites, having business development & operational ownership. Operational management supporting and enabling the Maersk WnD product families and value proposition to our clients being either stand alone or part of a global supply chain solution.

Key responsibilities
Profit & Loss
• New and existing customer management
• P&L responsibility for all sites
• WnD Site performance (cost/utilization)
• Continious improvement & optimization of assets
Product
• Execution of WnD strategy for site in alignment with Area WnD head
• Business development aligned with strategy
• Actively involved in selling and securing new business and customer retention in close co-ordination with EAA sales teams
• Growth targets
• Customization and localization of the products within framework
• Tender handling support to area WnD head
Operational excellence
• HSSE adherence
• Drive compliance & regulatory adherence
• Site operation basis security / IT standards
General Management
• Lease administration
• Contract management
• Drive adherence to governance framework / Area RICC compliance
Leadership:
• All people and safety aspects
• Having the best place to work and taking care for our clients

Who we are looking for
• Strong operational knowledge of Warehouse and Distribution
• 7-10 years of extensive WnD experience with min 5 years in managerial role
• East Africa region market knowledge
• Financial acumen – ability to read, interpret and act on P&L
• Self directed / entrepreneurial
• Team player
• Proven track record for leadership & team management
• Stakeholder management & collaboration in a matrix organization
• Commercial mindset
• Strong communication & interpersonal skills
• Ability to develop strong customer relations
