JOB DETAILS:
Air Logistics Perishable Operational Care Specialist

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Cutting MAWB and making sure that all documents are correct and that the documents are in their correct folders for processing and e-filing.
• Making sure that all shipments have HAWBs (House Air waybill) and Processing of MAWBS (Master Air waybill) / in Salog and making sure that all HAWBs (House Air waybill) are linked to the MAWBS (Master Air waybill) and is closed before cut off time.
• Making sure that the documents are dispatched and that all the physical documents make it to the planned flight and responsible for being the contact person for the airline and handling any issues/phone calls in the flight allocated during the shift.
• Manage operational tasks through Business Process Automation tools (BPA) and all related features and ensuring correct tariffs are captured on Air waybills including traffic codes.
• Typing / filling Eur1 forms, Generalized System of Preferences (GSPs) and Certificate of Origins.
• Securing phytosanitary certificates from Kephis shippers for shippers who have agreement with Kuehne+Nagel to get phytosanitary certificates on their behalf.
• To review and ensure alignment of shipping instructions including to clarify any deviations/conflicts in contradiction to country regulations, export compliance, rate and routing information and to immediately report problems, operational disputes or discrepancies to applicable stakeholders.
• Preparing of document handling reports and sending them to KN AMS (Amsterdam) & Clients who require them and ensuring that cargo is handed over to the correct handling agent with complete documentation. Also ensuring that all Kaplog tasks related to the above activities are completed at the end of the shift.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES
• Diploma Level (Supply Chain related course, an added advantage).
• 2-5 years’ experience in Air Logistics Operations.
• Good knowledge of Airfreight /Logistics Industry.
• Must be computer literate.
• Certificate in Customs and Freight Logistics (CCFL), formerly Eastern African
• Customs & Freight Forwarders Practicing Certificate Course (EACFFPC).
• Good communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Good English and local language skills.
• Flexible with shift work and long hours.
