Competencies

Skills: Required Skills:
• Good report writing and content production skills.
• Computing skills, including Graphic and MS-Office applications is, essential, knowledge and skill in urban design software are required.
• Excellent time and resource management skills are required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Familiarity with UN context and administrative processes is an asset.

Academic Qualifications: Education:
• Advanced University Degree (Master's degree) in sustainable urbanization related disciplines: urban planning, regional planning, development studies, social science, or other related fields. A first level degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.
Experience:
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in urbanization issues in Iran, preferably working experience with international organizations is required.
• Experience with advocating, mobilizing, and with working with multiple stakeholders is desirable.
Language: Language Requirements:
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations. For the post advertised, fluency in spoken and written English is required. In addition, this position is in Iran and therefore fluency in spoken and written Farsi is also required.
