JOB DETAILS:

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage accounts payable functions, including processing and monitoring vendor payments and reconciling accounts
• Matching revenue to payment points for the various product revenue categories
• Ensure timely and accurate recording of all financial transactions in compliance with accounting standards and regulations and monthly reconciliation of bank and MPESA accounts
• Update weekly and monthly inflows and outflows records and provide updates
• Prepare and file tax returns and statutory deductions and payments
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Maintain a fixed asset registry and perform impairment, and pass journals for the same on Quickbooks
• Conduct monthly and annual financial analyses, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and forecasting
• Participate in internal and external audits and provide support for external auditors
• Participate in stock checks and reconciliation with Warehouse Manager
• Analyze financial information and summarize financial status
• Spot errors and suggest ways to continuously improve efficiency and spending
• Provide technical support and advice to the Management Accountant

The profile we're likely to hire:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Business Administration, Finance or Accounting
• Professional Accounting Qualification (CPA (K) or ACCA)
• At least 4 years of experience in Finance/Accounting, with at least 2 years of handling accounts receivables
• Experience using Quickbooks and other Accounting software, and a good understanding of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their applications
• Strong analytical skills and ability to identify and prioritize key initiatives and opportunities
• Able to demonstrate initiative and ownership of assignments and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence others
• High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to effectively and efficiently handle a variety of responsibilities
• An individual who exemplifies integrity and honesty
• Experience in the e-commerce, retail, FMCG sectors would be an added advantage
