The Ministry of Defence is at Ulinzi House off Lenana Road in Nairobi. The Ministry is headed by the Cabinet Secretary who is responsible to the President and Commander – in – Chief on matters of policy. The Cabinet Secretary is appointed by the President and chairs the Defence Council which is responsible for the overall control and direction of the Kenya Defence Forces.

JOB DETAILS:
The Kenya Defense Forces (KDF) is pleased to announce to the general public the recruitment of General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets and Specialist Officers which is scheduled to take place in the months of August. September and October 2018. CORRUPTION.

Bribery and other acts of corruption are against the law. All persons presenting themselves for recruitment purposes with fake/falsified documents or caught engaging in any corrupt activity shall be arrested and prosecuted. Report any suspicious activities/conrnen to the nearest police station or a military camp. KDF recruitment is absolutely FREE TO ALL. Prospective candidates willing to join Kenya Defence Forces M1151 meet the following conditions and education qualification:

a. Conditions

•  Be Kenyan citizens with no dual citizenship. 
• Be in possession of a valid Kenyan National Identity Card. 
• Age - between 13 and 26 years old for GSO Cadets. not above 30 years for Specialist Officers and not above 39 years for Chaplains/lmams. 
• Be phgically and medically fit in accordance with the KDF standards. - Have no criminal record. 
• Minimum Height: 
• Men 1.60m (5ft 3in). 
• Women ‘l.52m (Sft)
  
• Minimum Weight: - Men 54.55 Kg (120 lb). 
• Women 50.00 Kg (110 lb). Female candidates must H91 be pregnant at the time of recruitment and during the entire duration of training.
• Minimum Education qualification 
• General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets Must hold a minimum mean grade of B (Plain) in KCSE with at least C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics and one Science subject. The initial training period for this category will cover three (3) continuous years leading to a BSc in Military Science and Security Studies on successful completion. - Specialist Officers Must hold a minimum mean grade of B (Plain) in KCSE with at least C+ (Plus) in English, Mathematics and one science subject. Must be holder of an undergraduate degree from a recognized University/institution and be registered with statutory body where applicable.
• The initial training period for Specialist Officers will not be less than three months. Vacancies. General Service Officer (GSO) Cadets Specialist Officers 

Medical Officers 

• Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery and be registered with Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (MPDB). 
• Pharmacists Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and be registered with Pharmacy and Poison Boa rd (PPB). 
• Nurses Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and be registered with the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK). 
• Dentists Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery and be registered with the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board (MPDB). 
• Veterinary Officers Must be holders ofa Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine and be registered with the Kenya Veterinary Board (KVB). 
• Counselling Psychologists Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Counselling Psychology. 
• Clinical Psychologists Must be holders of Masters degree in Clinical Psychology. - Biomedical Engineers Must have a minimum of Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering. 
• Physiotherapists Must be holders oi at least a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy and must be registered with the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya. 
• Radiographers Must have at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiography. 
• Applied Mathematics Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics. 
• information Technology Officers Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Information 
• Technology/Software Engineering/System Analyst with at least two (2) years working experience in Information Technology. Those with certification in Cyber Securityl Ethical hacking/Security analysis are encouraged to apply. - Telecommunication Engineers Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Telecommunication 
• Engineering from a recognized University and be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB). 
• Engineers Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Science degree in (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Mechatronics) Engineering and be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB). 
• Architects Must be holders of at least a Bachelor in Architecture degree and be registered with the Board of Registration of Architects and Quantity Surveyors (BORAQS). 
• Journalists Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Mass Communication majoring either in print media, broadcast media or public relations with at least two (2) years working experience as a journalist. 
• Meteorologists Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in Meteorology. 
• Chaplains/Imams Must be holders of at least a Bachelor's degree in Theology/Islamic studies from recognized Institutions. Protestant Churches and Roman Catholic Chaplains must be ordained ministers and recommended by Archbishop and Episcopal Conference respectively. lmams must be recommended by the Chief Kad hi. 
• Education Officers Must have at least a Bachelor's degree in Education (Maths and Physics), Bachelor of Education (Arts), Bachelor of Science/Arts degree and a post-graduate diploma in education with at least two (2) years working experience and must be registered with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC). 
• Textile/Garment Technologists Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Technology degree in Textile Engineering and be registered with the Engineers Registration Board (ERB). 
• Lawyers Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized University, be an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, hold a current and valid practicing certificate with at least two (2) years working experience. Experience in litigation will be an added advantage. 
• Instrumentation and Control Must be holders of at least a Bachelor of Science degree in Instrumentation and Control from a recognized University. 
• Directors of Music Must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Music. 
• Physical Training Officers Must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Sports Science and Physical Education. 
• Forensic Investigators (Cyber Security) Must be holders of at least Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science / Computer Forensic Science. 
• Investigation Officers Must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology and Security Studies. 
• Actuarial Officers Must be holders of a Bachelor of Science degree in Actuarial Science. 
• Accounting Officers Must be holders of a Bachelor of Commerce degree (Finance and Accounting). 
• Geospatial Information System Programmers Must be holders of a Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics Engineering and Geospatial Information Systems (GIS).
