JOB DETAILS:
Reporting to the Deputy Project Director, the Technical Officer will provide technical assistance to the private pharmacies participating in the PharmPrEP study. S/he will provide technical oversight, coordination, and capacity building of the implementation team. S/he will strengthen service delivery by identifying gaps in service provision and lead efforts in quality improvement of services. In addition, s/he will provide oversight and leadership to the daily conduct of the study as a designee of the Principal Investigator.
Responsibilities:
• Provide technical assistance to the pharmacy providers in the private pharmacies participating in the study.
• Training of pharmacy providers on PrEP, PEP, HTS and other relevant technical areas as required
• Conduct sensitization of the referral MOH facilities on the study protocol, and work closely with the facility point
• persons to address any emerging issues
• Conduct weekly site visits, observe the study procedures and document as required
• Serve as a link between the project and the County Health Department
• Represent the project in relevant stakeholder meetings at the County
• Attend weekly study meetings and periodic review meetings
• Prepare periodic project reports and provide relevant information for internal and external reporting purposes
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Medicine, Nursing or related clinical training is required
• 3 to 4 years’ experience implementing HIV prevention, care and treatment programs
• Experience in implementing oral PrEP programs will be an added advantage
• Experience in strengthening service delivery programs, performance and quality improvement
• A demonstrated track record of providing mentorship and supervision for strengthening healthcare services and training in quality improvement approaches
• Ability to coach, mentor and develop capacity of other technical staff
• Proven track record working in a team composed of several technical experts and fostering team work
• Strong change management, results oriented and decision making skills
• Excellent analytical, verbal, written communication and presentation skills
• Computer literacy, particularly in the use of MS Office
