Supply Chain Officers - 3 positions
Overview
This is the entry and training grade for degree holders into this cadre. An officer at this level will work under guidance and supervision of a senior officer.
Job Specification
The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail assisting in:-
• Participate in the design, development and maintenance of sound procurement controls and systems.
• Conduct market research to keep abreast of the market developments.
• Maintaining and updating lists of registered/ prequalified suppliers
• Opening and evaluation of tenders
• Participate in contract negotiations with suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders for approval and expedite timely deliveries of goods/services from the contracted suppliers.
• Maintaining and safeguarding of procurement and asset disposal records in accordance with the procurement law.
• Preparation of inventory reports
• Participate in the inspection and receipt of goods.
• Maintenance of optimal stock levels and carrying out stock taking
Person Specification
For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
• Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement & Supplies Management, Business Administration, or other relevant field from a recognized institution;
• Proficiency in computer applications
• Member/Associate of professional body either KISM or CIPS; and
• Fulfilled the requirements of Chapter 6 of the Constitution.
