Assistant Engineer II (Roads) (3 Posts)

Requirements for Appointment
• Be a Kenyan Citizen;
• Be a holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university in Kenya;
• Have the relevant knowledge, experience and distinguished career preferably in roads matters for at least four (4) years;
• Be registered as a Graduate Member of the Engineers Board of Kenya;
• Be a Graduate Members of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya;
• Proficiency in computer skills (MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS
• Access and Engineering Design software);
• Possess organizational skills, interpersonal skills and communication skills; and,
• Satisfy the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Duties and responsibilities
• Undertaking annual road inventory and condition survey;
• Preparing draft engineering design of road maintenance works;
• Preparation, compiling and analyzing draft annual road maintenance work programmes;
• Monitoring and undertaking public sensitization on protection of road reserves;
• Preparing draft BOQs, cost estimates and tender documents;
• Supervision of road and other civil works;
• Preparation of section and project reports monthly, quarterly and annually; and discuss the same with the Director in–charge of roads;
• Preparing draft records for road assets database;
• Carrying out traffic surveys and management of traffic data; and,
• Undertaking road safety audits during road development.
