JOB DETAILS:
a) Responsibilities
Reporting for day to day nursing services in the county and sub county health facilities: -
i. Assessing community nutrition needs
ii. Following-up on discharged casas from hospitals;
iii. Screening for deficiency diseases and chronic illnesses related to nutrition in a community setting and referring them to existing programs;
iv. Collecting data on nutrition and dietetics;
v. Promoting baby friendly community initiatives;
vi. Conducting community growth, monitoring and promotion activities;
vii. Assisting in community interventions on diet and lifestyle disease prevention and control;
viii. Promoting optimal infant and young child feeding Programs;
ix. Assisting in running outpatient supplementary feeding programs and outpatient therapeutic feeding programs;
x. Following-up and counselling of patients in home-based disease management;
xi. and carrying out nutrition health education

b) Requirements for Appointment
i. For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -
ii. Certificate in Community Nutrition from a recognized institution
iii. Registration by the council of the Kenya Institute of Nutritionists and Dieticians (CIND)
iv. Competence in computer applications.
