Lori Systems is a fast growing, technology venture based in Nairobi, Kenya led by Harvard & MIT graduates and backed by local & international investors and advisors. Leveraging 3 years of research at Harvard and in-house developed technology, Lori has built a logistics platform that is revolutionising the cargo-transport value chain in Africa – from the ground up. The relative cost of moving goods in the region is one of the highest in the world - leading to up to 75% of a product’s cost going to logistics (compared to 6% in the US). Lori enables the logistics space to operate at an order of magnitude more efficiently than it does today. Higher efficiency through Lori has been demonstrated to drive costs down which is expected to create new jobs & stimulate overall economic development in a tangible way. Lori is seeking a Summer MBA Fellow who will work closely with the COO in driving implementation of processes and structure that will allow scalability in this fast-growing startup. You will be required to work cross-functionally with various teams to understand opportunities for optimization and ensure adoption and compliance. As a Business Operations Associate, you will also be expected to lead special initiatives from time to time. The role requires an individual who is process-obsessed, extremely detail-oriented, have a strong sense of urgency, persistence and ability to drive change. .

  Responsibilities
• Develop processes and structure that enable an environment for rapid scalability
• Efficiently coordinate and monitor projects across multiple teams
• Persistently drive adoption and implementation across team
• Analyze business operational results and provide recommendations for improvement
• Provide analytical and execution support to the organization’s growth initiatives
• Track performance across the organization and escalate issues identified

  Requirements
• 2 – 4 years of relevant experience preferably in an operations role in the consumer goods sector or consulting firm
• Pursuing an MBA Degree from a top university
• Primary experience should include business analysis, project operations, project management or/and project implementation
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Detail-obsessed, structured and analytical thinker
• Sound business judgement and understanding of operational processes
• Logistics or supply chain experience is a plus
