JOB DETAILS:
Bureau Veritas is a recognized world leader in testing, inspection and certification services (TIC). With more than 120 years of experience in Africa and since 1994 in Nairobi to perform pre-export verification of conformity and government services in international trade, we developed a strong knowledge of the country, its activities and patterns. Later on, we extended our scope of operations to all the markets of Bureau Veritas and have contributed to the development of Kenya and have worked for a greener economy and a more reliable agriculture.
Main Purpose of the Job
• Organise, or participate in organisation of the audit
• Carry out review of documentation
• Prepare the audit plan
• Carry out audit by: Lead the opening meeting
• Carry out individual interviews as identified with the client
• Prepare the conclusions for the report
• Lead the closing meeting at the end of the audit
• Assess client compliance in order to issue or maintain certification
• Ensure timely production of good quality reports (including expenses claims)
Accountabilities
• Follow-up of actions to be done after the audit:
• Agree the non-conformities with the client
• Review the corrective actions proposed by the client
• Accept and sign off the corrective actions
• Submit the paperwork to the relevant local office
• Issue audit report and time-expenses report timely
• Ensures the follow-up of certification
• Follow-up audits in accordance with the terms of the contract
• Contribute to the sharing of knowledge
• Remain abreast of changes in the relevant areas, as well as developments in norms and regulations
• Maintain and share knowledge and skills Contribute to developing business providing leads
Minumum Requirements
Experience & Skills
• Have a varied breadth of industry sector experience,
• Experience of carrying out either third-party or second-party audits.
• Have held positions with responsibility of Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems, Food Management systems, Social Audits and Sustainability departments.
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge and experience of management system standards, compliance and auditing techniques.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Excellent organisational skills
• Available time for training and qualification purposes
Preferred Qualifications Required
• Proven knowledge of any of the following schemes: QMS, EMS, OHSMS, ISMS, BCMS, EnMS, FSMS, FSSC, ISO 14064, CDM, Gold Standard, VCS, ISO 28001, SMETA, BRC, GLOBAL GAP, ISO 26000
• An advantage if already qualified to Lead Auditor Status in QMS, EMS, OHSMS, ISMS, BCMS, EnMS, FSMS, FSSC, ISO 14064, GRI, TCFD, ISO 28001, SMETA (Apsca Qualified), BRC, GLOBAL GAP, ISO 26000
• Educated to degree level or equivalent.
