JOB DETAILS:
Abt Associates, a global leader in implementing technical assistance programs and research in the fields of economic growth, agriculture, social and environmental policy, and climate change, seeks highly qualified candidates for the anticipated five-year USAID-funded Africa Trade & Investment Project (ATIP) which aims to advance Prosper Africa's goals to boost trade, increase investment, and support business-friendly policy reforms. The program will complement the U.S. Government's trade and investment tools through customized services - from business consulting and transaction facilitation to targeted policy interventions. ATIP will have regional offices in Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, and the U.S. All positions posted here will be based in Kenya and are contingent upon project award to Abt Associates. .
Job details;
• The RTD will lead all activities to support increasing trade between the U.S. and Africa, including working with policy, legal and regulatory issues to help create an improved business and trade environment. S/he will lead the regional strategy and implementation of trade enhancement activities between the US and Africa; develop, train and manage the region's team of trade facilitators: Collaborate with public and private stakeholders and officials that influence trade.

Qualifications;
• MBA or Master Degree in business, business and/or trade law, economics, or similar field, minimum 12 years of professional experience in export trade, including the regulatory environment, intellectual property rights and other legal and policy issues affecting trade, customs, export requirements.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a managerial or leadership role, collaborating with remote teams a plus.
• Fluent English required.
