Radiographer - Nyahururu

Overall Job Function:

To assist Consultant Radiologists and other doctors assess and diagnose patients for a variety of injuries and diseases. The Radiographer/Sonographer will strengthen delivery of radio-diagnostic services in Pearl Imaging. The Sonographer will directly report to the Consultant Radiologist.

Major duties and responsibilities:

  • To provide quality diagnostic services using the most appropriate radiographic techniques and equipment
  • To market to stakeholders the wide range of radio-diagnostic services offered by Pearl Imaging
  • To assist the Consultant Radiologist in performing radio-diagnostic procedures
  • To maintain equipment in the radiology department, and follow closely all the safety precautions necessary
  • To prepare patients appropriately including safe positioning for radio-diagnostic services in order to get the most accurate images
  • To implement quality assurance measures for diagnostic services
  • To maintain patient records, improve documentation and reporting of radio-diagnostic activities
  • To perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Diagnostic Radiography/Medical Imaging Sciences or Ultrasound or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
  • Higher Diploma in Medical Imaging Sciences (Ultra Sound) is an added advantage
  • Must be registered and licensed by the Radiation Protection Board of Kenya
  • Minimum 1 year working experience in a busy medical institution
  • Excellent knowledge of techniques in general and specialized radio-diagnostics
  • Excellent computer skills in Hospital Information Systems, Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Ability and experience to market radio-diagnostic services
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to work well with others and to develop and maintain relationships
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Kiswahili
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages for report writing and presentation

 

Community Oral Health Officer (COHO) - Nyahururu

The successful candidate shall provide high quality dental care to our patients while observing the acceptable standards of operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Examine patients’ teeth and mouth.
  • Document patient dental history and/or chief complaints and/or observations
  • Assess dental condition and needs of patients using patient screening and monitoring procedures.
  • Analyse x-rays and evaluate dental needs as necessary including medical history review and dental charting.
  • Undertake general treatment and care for teeth and tissue problems using specified equipment and tools and established dental hygienist procedures.
  • Clean teeth using brushes, and polishers to remove plaque and stains ensuring that sterile conditions are maintained
  • Fill in cavities, rebuild broken teeth, replace missing teeth, and remove unnecessary or severely damaged teeth.
  • Treat and help to prevent gum disease.
  • Provide instruction on dental care and write prescriptions for patients
  • Inventory management of equipment and supplies at the dental unit. This includes preparing orders as needed to avoid stock outs.
  • Maintain a record of day–to–day activities of the dental unit and prepare regular reports as needed.

Skills required:

  • Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.
  • Strong problem solving and sound judgment skills.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Community Oral Health from a reputable institution
  • Registration by Oral Health Association of Kenya (OHAK)/ Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC)
  • At least one year of work experience
  • Good Communications skills
