About The Role
We are seeking an Insurance associate to own the execution of general and micro-insurance initiatives in the company. Our core products have reached ~100,000 customers and we are well-positioned to expand our product portfolio into new crops and products that help farmers further increase their profits, access new markets, and mitigate the risks they face. To mitigate the risks faced by our customers, we have worked with our insurance partners to provide Area Yield Insurance for our maize farmers, MPCI for our tea farmers, indemnity cover for our dairy farmers, and credit life insurance for all our customers. We also have other products general insurance products and micro-insurance products for our field teams and agro deader. A successful insurance associate-general will ensure all claims are processed on time, premiums are paid within time, analyze claims data and advise leadership on changes that can be done, documentation of all insurance claims and policy docs, and work on training Apollo staff on the different types of insurance offered.

Your day-to-day
• Work with the agronomy report to ensure crop development reports are up-to-date
• Conduct field research on the different types of insurance would be beneficial to the farmers
• Work with field teams to conduct field visits to areas where perils have been reported such as drought, floods, and hailstones, and document them in the crop development report
• Timely Submission of insurance reports and documentation
• Working with other departments like agronomy to contact Golden crop cuts
• Working with the repayment lead in designing insurance product structures to meet the needs of Apollo and farmers
• Follow up with insurance partners for insurance bookings, claims, and escalations
• Analyzing insurance claims and advising the repayments lead to changes that could be made to ensure farmers’ risks are taken care of.
• Work with repayment and collections lead to design insurance training for farmers, apollo staff to increase insurance literacy
You Are
• A graduate of actuarial science or any other related course
• Knowledgeable about insurance with 2+ years of experience
• Tirelessly hardworking and hungry to learn
• Strong at data analysis in Excel or Google Sheets and have an interest in learning SQL
• Clear communicator who can express complex ideas clearly both verbally and in writing
• A considerate listener who takes the time to deeply understand customers, teammates, and partners
• Ability to think with the end in mind while designing agricultural products, being able to build farmer product maps
• Ability to run tests and experiments, gather feedback across teams, and provide insights that will enable insurance products iteration/improvements to better serve the farmer needs
• To become the farmer’s “advocate” balancing between what the farmer needs and what is commercially viable and scalable for the company
