Our client is a leading property developer in the East African region with five successful projects in Kenya and one in Uganda. With extensive knowledge of the market, they aim to provide innovative, luxurious and high-quality housing infrastructure with the most unique payment plans at great pricing. They wish to recruit a senior seasoned professional for the position of Head of Construction.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the Head will be responsible for implementing the preconstruction, construction, commissioning and project closeout phases of a development project in a timely and cost effective manner.
• Must have demonstrated skills in negotiating, coordinating and directing work of sub-contractors and develop strong working relationships with general contractor and other related parties.
• Ensure that all of the work is completed on time and within the projected budget and is compliant with current building codes and other legal or regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership over the Construction Department and Head of all the regional projects.
• Be in charge of developing weekly, monthly, annual and seasonal construction targets in line with program of works, among others.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to construction i.e. Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying, or Construction Management.
• Minimum of 7 years work experience in construction with emphasis in complex, fast‐ track or phased project delivery, preferably in similar role
• High degree of organizational skills and problem-solving ability
• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, scheduling software such as MS Project, Primavera, or others.
