Education
• Advanced university degree (Master's degree or equivalent) in environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental sustainability, electrical and mechanical engineering, or another similar field, is required. A first level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
• Additional certification in sustainable energy engineering and or a renewable energy related field is desirable. Formal training in EMS and or ISO 14001:2015 is desirable.
• Successful completion of both degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics or data science programs is an desirable.

Work Experience
• A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in environmental engineering, environmental management, environmental sustainability, electrical and mechanical engineering, or related field, is required.
• Practical experience working as the principal responsible for planning, implementation, and delivery of environmental sustainability, infrastructure or engineering projects with a specific focus on the built environment, energy, water, wastewater and waste services, and transport sector is required.
• Practical experience working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team to provide technical expertise, best practice and deliver on environmental building or engineering solutions, is required.
• Proficiency in use of REVIT, AutoCAD, or similar software is required.
• Experience with planning, coordination, and implementation of an EMS and certification of the same according to international standards such as ISO 14001:2015, is desirable.
• Practical experience with an environmentally certified building, or environmental performance assessment and rating tools, is desirable.
• Experience in an international environment working on environmental outreach, is desirable.
• 2 years or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Languages
• English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in written and oral English is required. Knowledge of other UN official languages is an advantage.
