JOB DETAILS:
Environment, Social, Governance Officer – Nairobi, Kenya

Our client a credit-only Micro-Finance Company licensed in Kenya under the Company’s Act is looking for Environment, Social, Governance Officer. The successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination and implementation of all ESG activities across the Group. He / She will support the measurement, monitoring, management, reporting and evaluation of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) activities, initiatives, processes and systems across the group.

Key Responsibilities:
• Collect, collate and analyze ESG related data, information, reports and assessments.
• Coordinate and implement the monitoring and reporting of ESG related incidents, claims and policies.
• Assist with the measurement, monitoring and management of ESG related processes.
• Coordinate and contribute to ESG related internal training activities.
• Assist with the coordination, implementation and review of the Environmental and Social Management System (ESMS).
• Contribute to the ESG strategy development of the Group.
• Review and coordinate the implementation of ESG related policies, systems and processes.
• Engage with key stakeholders on ESG related matters, focusing on raising awareness, building capacity & monitoring compliance within the Group’s subsidiaries.

Qualifications:
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Environment, Sustainability, Business, Finance or related field.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and/or additional qualifications related to ESG are preferred.
• At least 2 years working in an ESG related role or in conjunction with ESG systems and processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
• Demonstrate ability to undertake research.
• Knowledge of ESG standards, principles, and processes.
• Stakeholder engagement processes.
• Experience working with ESG systems and processes.
• Data analysis and experience with ESG Reporting.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Collaborative work style & Attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a high-performance environment.
• Presentation and public speaking ability.
