Role Purpose
WWF International’s aim is to have a globally integrated technological infrastructure and service platform that is robust, fully supported, secure and available on any device to support and drive delivery of network objectives by optimizing existing tools and integrate them with new and innovative solutions This shall be done by proactively partnering and generating ideas with the organization to develop and evolve the platform. To fulfill this aim, the Director, ICT shall work with the organization to fully understand needs, requirements and ways of working across the internal and external functions and range of corporate services. This includes establishing governance to support cross-cutting digital services and creating an enabling environment for digital innovation in the work of conservation. More specifically, the role will:
o By providing exceptional vision, direction and guidance, develop and deliver WWF International’s ICT strategy and services, particularly around technical knowledge management, innovation and collaboration to support WWF’s conservation work
o Identify, develop and implement technology solutions related improvements which deliver measurable benefits network wide
o Incorporate industry trends across other INGOs and the broader technology industry and bring relevant learning into WWF to further enable the network
o Promote network collaboration on ICT trends and solutions
o Identify opportunities for partnering with key technology providers
o Act as a technical consultant, providing deep technical expertise
o Provide and manage operation of ICT office infrastructure for Secretariat locations
o Oversee the provision of excellent service to the network by directly leading and managing the Global ICT team and guide the ICT managers of the Program Offices to deliver consistent, robust and cost-effective services
o Utilise available budget in order to set the best combination of optimised spend and active response to Network needs

Duties and Responsibilities
o Design, deliver, manage and evolve the core services associated IT infrastructure, transactional systems, collaboration solutions and business applications to agreed service levels whether on premise, hosted by a third party or in the cloud. Ensure solutions are accessible on all end-user devices wherever possible.
o Develop and gain agreement to the IT and collaboration strategies for Network and WWF International in the context of the scope of accountabilities for the WWF International Global IT team and the role of the Global ICT Steering Group;
o Establish the necessary change management processes involved in adapting existing applications and technology and the implementation of new infrastructure, applications or technology;
o Develop and establish technology standards, policies and governance for ICT services including ensuring services are adequately protected (eg anti virus, anti-spyware and firewall products), best ICT practices and organisational continuity; develop and evolve those standards and guidelines where appropriate;
o Develop and manage technology partnerships associated with delivering on the ICT strategy;
o Build the capability of IT staff and IT users within the organisation utilising an appropriate combination of internal and external training, coaching, collaboration and internal communications;
o Build the capability of WWF staff to utilise the systems and solutions provided by Global ICT to optimal effect.
o Actively seek and implement ways to deliver and use information, collaboration and communication technologies to reduce the environmental footprint of WWF as a whole as well as WWF International and the POs specifically;
o Work with ICT managers throughout the WWF network to identify and implement global solutions which deliver clear benefits to the network as a whole;
o Secretary to the Network ICT Steering Group (NISG) and, where appropriate, engage with the Operations and Development Committee;
o Represent Global ICT at Network-wide meetings and events including, where appropriate, external events to WWF.

Education, Qualifications & Experience
o University or Technical school degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related discipline.
o Significant experience in planning, development, implementation and support of a wide range of ICT and collaboration services and systems;
o Proven experience in running an IT department within a multi-location, ideally multi-national organisation or accountability for the ICT needs of a subset of the business within a medium to large organisation;
o Experience in a broad range of technological solutions and the ability to analyse new and existing tools to propose more efficient, effective and environmentally sound ways of working.
o Strong experience in NGO sector
o Good experience in strategy development, implementation and change management;
o Credibility and the ability to establish confidence and respect – both internally and externally demonstrated through superior communications skills, especially when to explaining complex technical details to non-technical staff;
o Excellent interpersonal skills enabling the job holder to work effectively with all disciplines throughout the WWF IT Network and external organisations, representing other business and regional cultures;
o Proven personnel management skills including the ability to develop staff by identifying and fulfilling gaps in skills and knowledge and the management of international teams;
o Experience in partner selection and management and contract negotiation;
o Open mind towards innovative ways of solving problems and creating solutions for staff through an appropriate use of technology
o A good working knowledge of English as the global language for WWF IT community;
o Adhere to WWF’s values: Knowledgeable, Optimistic, Determined and Engaging.

Terms of Appointment
This is an open ended contract with a standard probation period. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. A pension plan, life and medical insurances are included in the benefits package.
