The Job
This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial and visionary leader to join and shape the next strategic phase of Triggerise. The Chief Impact Officer is ultimately responsible for delivering impact across our operational markets. You lead all areas of our organisation that implement our programmes on the ground, as well as a number of strategic initiatives that aim to ensure we keep evolving our operations into the future. You are part of the C-suite and operate globally.

Main Responsibility Areas

• Be a transformational leader that provides clear and actionable leadership to your department and in the wider organisation. Based on your skillset we will define your final portfolio together upfront, but teams ideally include Global Operations, Partnerships, Public Sector, MERL and Marketing, roughly 50 FTE (Full Time Equivalent) in total.
• Ensure consistent, high quality delivery in our 5 core markets, Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, South Africa and Burkina Faso, building on our Kenyan successes.
• Develop and execute the impact strategy for Triggerise with a particular focus on using our platform's technological abilities to create impact.
• Give guidance and provide strategic oversight for partnerships with public and private partners.
• Oversee Triggerise expansion into new markets with regards to impact as well as daily operations. Develop strategic implementation blueprints for new markets and adapt these to the local reality.
• Provide the strategic oversight and guidance that ensures your teams are equipped and enabled to thrive in a complex network organisation that marries tech and NGO.
• Connect data with strategy and impact in a way that means we develop reporting that can be meaningfully and impactfully shared with colleagues, donors and other stakeholders alike.
• Strategically budget and decide on staffing and fund allocation to optimise impact and quality across markets.
• Be a key member of the C-suite of Triggerise, which requires strategic thinking, hands-on implementation and seamless partnerships across the executive team and the organisation.

Key Deliverables
• Successfully scale our impact in the coming years from 300.000 users in 2022 to 1 million users in 2026.
• You meet our monthly and annual targets for each market and deliver on grants deliverables.
• Ensure our ecosystems and associated offers are delivering high quality, sustainable impact.
• Maintain a competitive cost per user in all markets by ensuring Triggerise operates in a cost efficient way.
• Ensure each market is functioning as required according to the growth phase it is in and ensure we have clear blueprints for growth.

About You
• You are a strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and vision-oriented approach.
• You have exceptional communication and relation building skills.
• You have the technological knowledge and interest to be able to lead the added component of implementing a digital platform based solution.
• You can keep a helicopter view, but are not afraid to get your hands dirty and get involved when needed.
• You have a data-driven approach and mindset.
• You have excellent writing and presentation skills.
• You thrive under pressure and are resilient.
• You have the ability to manage multiple projects with varying types of demands and can prioritise between pressing tasks.
• You are a confident decision-maker who can communicate directions and solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical people.
• You are a human centred leader that can remotely inspire teams across cultures.

Requirements
• 3-5 years of experience in a senior leadership operational role
• A minimum of 10 years of experience operating in a similar context. NGO, public healthcare or other relevant experience in the private sector in our priority markets will be a plus.
• Experience overseeing operations in multiple countries across Africa.
• Extensive experience working in a complex, results focused environment.
• Proven responsibility of having final responsibility over 8-12 million dollar budgets annually.
• Experience leading teams within a regional or global capacity, in a matrix, fast paced environment.
• Experience in representing an organisation to the public.
• Open to travel within the continent - at least 25% of time spent travelling will be required
