JOB DETAILS:
14. Driver III&II- TEN (10) POSITIONS- NPSC 2-V/NO.16/2022 Gross Salary Scale: As per NPSC Salary Scale
Leave allowance: As existing in the Commission
Annual Leave: 30 working days per financial year
Medical Cover: As existing in the Commission
Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
a) Duties and Responsibilities
i. Drive the Commission Vehicles assigned;
ii. Safeguard security and safety of the vehicle on and off the road;
iii. Maintain the cleanliness and routine maintenance of the Commission vehicles assigned;
iv. Secure safety of the passengers and/or goods;
v. Report and document accidents and incidents to the transport officer;
vi. Carry out routine checks on the functionality and maintenance of the vehicles;
vii. Detect and report malfunctioning/defects of vehicles;
viii. Enter and maintain work tickets for vehicles allocated;
ix. Fuel assigned vehicle and safeguard the motor vehicle fuel card against theft, fraud and misuse;
x. Report to the transport officer on challenges encountered on the road in the course of work;
xi. Maintain proper monthly service sheet or logbook; and
xii. Follow prescribed routes and carry authorized passengers and goods.
b) Requirements for Appointment
i. Driving experience for at least two (2) years;
ii. Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D (Plain)or its equivalent;
iii. A valid class B, C1, C, driving license free from any current endorsement;
iv. Undergone a suitability test from Chief Mechanical Department;
v. First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) week from St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology or any other recognized institution; and
vi. Valid Police Clearance Certificate from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
