Warehouse Supervisor

Your Role
Coordinating the day to day operations for perishable exports efficiently and on time while ensuring any challenge is resolved within the shortest time possible.

Your Responsibilities
• Co-ordinating the day to day operations for perishable exports and supervising staff at the platform. Supervising offloading, turnaround of trucks and coordinating special duties for our clients where necessary.
• Supervising scaling of shipments, temperature checks and vacuum cooling as well as ensuring that all tasks in Kaplog system related to these functions are performed.
• Ensuring proper build-up of pallets in line with the days planning from Kaplog system.
• Ensuring weight statements / load sheets in Kaplog system are complete, printed and dispatched to respective airlines on time and where applicable arrange escort of shipments to respective Ground Handling Agent.
• Ensuring even distribution of work between the relevant staff and adjust as and when necessary, reporting of any discrepancies / damages. Ensuring set Standard Operating Procedures are followed.
• Sorting and scaling of Build-up Pallets (BUPs) as per pallet breakdown from Kaplog and ensuring that all BUP checklists are completed correctly and signed off.
• Coordination and roll out of BUPs, loose shipments and dispatch of pallets as well as ensuring loose shipments in Kaplog are updated.
• Re-organizing of the cold room / compound after day’s work, ensuring that all Kaplog tasks related to the above responsibilities are completed before the shift ends and ensuring proper handover to the incoming shift.

Your Skills and Experiences
• Diploma in Clearing & Forwarding / Logistics.
• 5 years’ experience in the Logistics Industry & or Warehousing.
• 2 years’ experience in cool chain management.
• Good knowledge of Airfreight /Logistics Industry (procedures and forwarding applications & Airside Safety).
• Must be Computer literate.
• Building of pallets and aircraft contours experience.
• Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) will be an added advantage.
• Good leadership, people management and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
• Organizational skills and good problem solving ability.
• Good English and local language skills.
