JOB DETAILS:
The Management University of Africa (MUA) is a private university in Kenya located off Mombasa Road in Nairobi. We envision being a premier university providing management and transformative leadership solutions worldwide. We are looking for dynamic, self-driven and result oriented professional to fill the following position; VICE-CHANCELLOR .

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Shall be the Chief Executive Officer and shall be the Academic and Administrative head of the University
• shall be the Chief Accounting Officer and shall be responsible to the University Governing Council for maintaining and promoting efficiency and good order of the University and ensuring its growth.
• Shall implement the Philosophy, Vision, Mission and Values of the University as prescribed in the Strategic Plan.
• May assign or delegate any of his duties to a committee or to a member of the University staff and may at his or her discretion withdraw any such assignment
• Shall be responsible for policy matters, public relations, fundraising and general development of the University.
• Shall preside, if present, at all meetings of the Senate.
• Subject to these Statutes and to any Regulations which may be made by the Senate, he/she shall be entitled to attend meetings of all Committees
• Shall prepare an Annual Report of the University for Submission to the University Governing Council.
• Shall regulate the order to be observed at the conferring of degrees and other academic distinctions and at other public ceremonials of the University.
• Shall sign all certificates of degrees and other awards of the University.
• Shall have the powers to exclude any student from the University for any span thereof until the next meeting of the University Student Disciplinary Committee which shall recommend to Senate the appropriate action for such breach of University regulations on Discipline and Conduct of Students.
• Shall in cases of emergency take such steps as he/she may deem necessary for safeguarding the interests of the University, and in such cases to report his/her action to the next meeting of the Senate and the University Governing Council
• Shall appoint Deans, Chairpersons of Departments, Directors, and any other staff that are not included in these Statutes.
• Shall have such other powers and duties as are set out in the Statutes or as the University Governing Council may from time to time determine..

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE SKILLS REQUIRED ARE ACCORDING TO COMMISSION FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION (CUE) UNIVERSITY STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES, 2014 STANDARD NUMBER INST/STD/04 (PAGE 7 of 134)
• The Vice Chancellor or equivalent of the university shall be a person appropriately qualified with extensive teaching administrative and research experience;
• Be a holder of PhD or equivalent degree qualification in the relevant area from recognized/accredited university,
• At least three (3) years teaching/ research experience at the university level as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
• Accumulated at least forty-eight equivalent publication points as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow;
• Supervised at least five (5) postgraduate students and attracted research funds as a Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow..
