Training Instructor
Job Summary
Reporting to the Administration Manager, the incumbent will be expected to deliver effective, competency-based training to new trainees and also up skill current security personnel to compliance to industry and statutory requirements.
Requirements
1. Minimum of 3 years of classroom instructor experience
2. Experience in conducting foot drills and other physical exercises
3. Ability to coach and motivate others
4. Proficiency in computer skills including word processing and basic excel spread sheets
5. Leadership skills and motivational skills to ensure that the individuals receiving training will be engaged and committed to the training process.
6. Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills so that essential information is clearly presented in a way that trainees will understand
7. Analytical skills to be able to clearly assess the performance of the students or security guards they train.
8. An ability to work as part of team and also have the ability to lead teams.
9. Must have the highest level of integrity, vigilant and of sound judgement.
10. Should be unrelenting in the pursuit of excellence, ensuring to lead by setting the standards.
11. A background in the disciplined forces or the NYS would be desirable
12. A Degree or diploma in security studies will be an added advantage.
13. Be in great physical shape
14. Knowledge and operation of security equipment, knowledge of current Standardized Operating Procedures (SOP) including security breach, knowledge of current performance protocols
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage training program; plan, develop, prepare, and deliver Private Security Officer Basic Training, designed with the overall intention of equipping trainees with the basic skills to work in the private security industry.
2. Keep up to date with developments in training methodology and security issues in the private security industry
3. Contribute to the design, planning and reviewing of the Private Security Officer Basic Training course
4. Work with the Training Manager and Operations Manager to ensure consistency in delivery and training practice.
5. Ensure the efficient administration and smooth running of the Training course
6. Provide regular reports to management regarding training initiatives
7. Develop and implement method of measuring the effectiveness of training programs;
8. Conduct and facilitate training sessions, presenting information clearly and concisely to various audiences
9. Developing a lessons learned system and establishment of best practices from successfully delivered learning activities including gathering feedback and course evaluations, monitoring trends and changes, and providing feedback to Management on training and learning programs' effectiveness.
10. Ensure physical fitness of trainees and undertake drill training to instill the required disciplined practices
11. Coordinate the recruitment of new trainees in line with the minimum requirements as stated in the recruitment procedure
12. Perform other related duties and tasks as assigned
