Technical Project Manager
Job Description
As a technical project manager for an MIS platform project, you will work closely with governments and other stakeholders to understand system requirements and develop documentation and implementation plans. You will work with the software development team to operationalise the requirements and design agile sprints to ensure smooth rollout of the project within scope and budget. You will be supported by the global team lead of the organisation.
Main tasks and responsibilities
1. Lead design and technical requirements gathering workshops with the government and other stakeholders
2. Create high quality software development design documents and implementation plans
3. Ensure timely delivery within budget and scope creep
4. Be the scrum master / agile coach and design sprints
5. Create user documentation for the platform
Key requirements and competencies:
1. You have 10+ years of experience in software development life cycle
2. You have 4+ years of experience as a scrum master / agile coach
3. You have experience working with NGOs and governments
4. You have strong technical documentation skills
5. You have designed and/or developed complex systems in combination with organisational constraints
6. You like working with junior and mid level engineers and you’re a strong proponent of good software development practices
7. You have experience in software consulting and handling clients pull and push
8. You have experience working in fast growing organisations and/or with the Lean Startup methodology
