JOB DETAILS:
As a Safety Officer, you will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OSH) Act 2007 and related company policies.

Responsibilities
• Developing, implementing and reviewing the organization’s Health and Safety management system.
• Preparation of weekly and monthly HSE reports.
• Attending weekly HSE meetings.
• Preparation of the monthly & annual HSE budget for approval.
• Conducting contractor’s OHS evaluation, monitoring and management
• Incidents and accidents investigation and compiling of incidents statistics.
• Preparation of the HSE training programs.
• Conducting internal HSE trainings and inductions
• Developing and maintaining HSE records.
• Ensuring statutory HSE compliance in the organization.
• Conducting site inspection and audits.
• Coordinate health & safety induction of new employees in conjunction with HR department.
• Coordinate Health & Safety Committee activities.
• Update & maintain the legal register.

Requirements
• Work experience
• Minimum of 2- 3 years of experience as a Safety Officer preferably in telecommunication or engineering.
• Qualifications, Experience and Skills
• Bachelor's Degree in in Electrical ,Telecommunication Engineering or its equivalent
• Professional training in environmental Health, Environmental Science or Occupational Health & safety.
• Must have NEBOSH IGC certification.
• Must be a member of the Environment institute of Kenya
• Must be registered with NEMA as an associate expert
• Must be familiar with HSE standards for contractors.
• Outstanding organizational and management skills.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge and skills in quality assurance
