JOB DETAILS:
This role will be responsible for executing strategies that accelerate the goals of the Infection Prevention and Control partnership across 9 facilities. The goals of the partnership is to strengthen infusion safety(70%) and phlebotomy safety('l5%) and injection safety('l5%).

The Coordinator will support the visiting technical experts in provision of training and mentorship in the participating sites and ensure follow up mentorship support. The term of this contract is for a period of 1 year renewable based on availability of funding and satisfactory performance.

The job will involve working with the partners to coordinate all aspects of the roll-out of a train

• the-trainer cascade for safe injection, phlebotomy and infusion practices across 9 facilities and supporting the establishment, implementation and adoption of National facility guidelines and SOP’s on safety control in the following areas:
• Improve quality of Infusion procedures critical to management of HIV/AIDS patients.
• Strengthen sharp injuries surveillance to identify practices and procedures that pose risks to health workers and patients.
• Support National HAI and AMR Surveillance
• Assist in the development of policies, guidelines, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Infection control practices related to infusion, phlebotomy and injections
• The desired candidate will be a Medical doctor with training from a recognized training institution and applicant must be registered and in good standing with Kenya Medical and Dentists Board. Must have at least three years of clinical experience post registration in a public or private hospital.

The candidate MUST have demonstrated ability to train and mentor and experience in infection prevention and control.
