Description

Seureca assists its clients to design and implement solutions to today's environmental challenges in the fields of Water, Energy and Solid Waste in the industrial, municipal and tertiary sectors. The Scope of the consultancy services under the Consulting Services for detailed design (including feasibility study for trenchless technology), Tender documentation and supervision of works for Rehabilitation of Central Nairobi Area Water Network project include:
• Undertake a Feasibility Study for the use of trenchless technology in undertaking the rehabilitation of water network within Central Nairobi areas;
• Carrry out Detailed Designs for rehabilitation of the water network in CBD/Industrial Area, Pumwani, Ngara, Starehe, Jogoo Rd, Embakasi and Viwandani areas for a total length of 136 km diameters ranging from DN 75mm to DN 400mm and approximately 1,184 No. water connections
• Prepare Tender documents for the above project components in one works package and supporting the Client in procurement of Works Contractor;
• Fulfill the role of the Engineer's Representative and supervise construction of the works, in accordance with the Conditions of Contract, Specifications and Drawings. The Consultant will be responsible for ensuring that works are carried out in accordance with the designs, specifications and works Contract documents while at all-time ensuring quality, cost effectiveness, compliance with legal and other requirements; and timely completion.
• Prepare Livelihood Restoration Plan for the project component.
• Review of the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment Report for the project for comprehensiveness and update of the Management Plan as necessary;
• Supervision of construction works for the rehabilitation of Central Nairobi Water Network including implementation of C-ESMP/LRP and identification and implementation of the project targeted connections.
• The Consultant will provide the Client with regular status reports and other reports as per the Terms of Reference, together with all related necessary technical assistance and professional advice to the Client related to design and supervision of the construction of the said works.

The Team Leader, will be responsible for the following tasks: -
• To lead the consultant's team during the project implementation, organize and coordinate the project design and provide back stopping management expertise during the implementation of all the project components.
• To undertake overall day-to-day coordination of detailed design, feasibility study and supervision work in the Project.
• To compile and present the various reports required under the contract. –
• Shall be responsible for the overall design and management of all project activities as well as monitoring and reporting in line with the project objectives - Should have a Degree (BSc) in either Water Engineering or Civil Engineering with at least twenty (20) year overall experience in design and supervision of water supply projects;
• The Team Leader should have experience in designing, construction management, and supervision of large integrated water supply projects in built up areas. - Must be registered with a recognized Engineer's registration body;
• Being the team leader, the expert will be required to have proven specific experience of over fifteen (15) years in water network detailed design and especially supervision activities for rehabilitation of water networks in highly built-up urban areas
• Should have worked in at least two previous assignments of same magnitude
• Expert should have regional experience and knowledge of English
