JOB DETAILS:
The National Land Commission of Kenya is an independent government commission whose establishment was provided for by the Constitution of Kenya to, amongst other things, manage public land on behalf of the national and county governments, initiate investigations into present or historical land injustices and recommend appropriate redress, and monitor and have oversight responsibilities over land use planning throughout the country. It was officially established under The National Land Commission Act, 2012
An officer appointed to this position will be responsible in the purchase of goods and services for the commission for various user departments at the right price, quality, and quantity and from the right source. .
Responsibilities
• Co-ordinate and handle all matters pertaining to procurement of goods and services including contracts, sourcing for quotations to ensure procurement standards are maintained
• Ensuring the Commission gets quality goods and services from the suppliers to maintain the standards of the procurement function
• Liaise closely with Corporate Support Services office on repair works and general maintenance of the Commission's offices, equipment and servicing of vehicles to provide efficient and effective support services
• Reconcile delivery of goods and services and validate suppliers’ invoices before passing over to Accounts
• Unit for settlement to ensure accurate delivery of purchases
• Assist to prepare, publish, evaluate and award RFQ’s, in the IFMIS system to ensure timely submission for approvals
• Assist to prepare LSO,s for purchases of goods and services
• Prepare and assemble bid documents which include quotations and requests for proposal to ensure proper documentation is in place

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in procurement, Business management, social sciences or relevant degree in relevant field
• Diploma in Procurement/Chartered Institute of Purchasing in Supply (CIPS) Diploma
• Three (3) years of service, or similar experience in a comparable position from a reputable organization
• Must be a registered member of KISM or CIPS member
