JOB DETAILS:
Social Media Content Producer Intern
International land coalition – Africa (ILC Africa) is a regional platform of the International Land Coalition (ILC), a global alliance of civil society and intergovernmental organizations united for “people-centred land governance”. ILC Africa brings together 95 members spread across 28 countries in Sub Saharan Africa.
ILC Africa has since 2021 started a scheme that aims at developing/generating new land rights advocates by involving young graduates in the implementation of its work through internship opportunities. The intern is offered with the opportunity to learn, practice, interact with members across countries, as well as support the implementation of the ILC strategy in Africa.

Description Of Role:
The Social Media Content Producer Intern will work closely with the communications specialist and officer to produce innovative social media content, monitor social media analytics, respond to comments and make ILC Africa is following all key social media accounts.

The Duties And Responsibilities Of A Social Media Intern Include:
• Assist with the design and execution of social media content for campaigns and events, that includes: text-based video/photo script, social media cards, infographics, and quote graphics
• Contribute to weekly and monthly social media calendars to promote ILC Africa’s network on various social media websites
• Create and distribute content such as blogs, infographics, videos and press releases on social media and traditional news outlets
• Track social media engagement to identify high-performing ideas and campaigns for scalability
• Support ILC Africa, members and stakeholders at live and online events.

Knowledge And Skills:
• Proficiency in Canva, Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, or any other graphic design tools is a plus
• Hold (or in pursuit of) a degree/qualification related to communications
• Track record of previous work related to social media content production
• Interest and knowledge related to civil society, activism and global issues.

• Knowledge of social media and its tools - especially twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Hootsuite and Buffer
• Ability to communicate simply and clearly
• Ability to work in a team
• Excellent spoken and written English; French is also preferred.
