Job Description
• The Social Media & Content Marketing Intern must have great relationship management skills, be an effective communicator, and understand the business life cycle SMEs in Africa go through.
• The successful candidate will report to the Marketing Specialist - Digital and Creative and will also work closely with the Manager - Digital and Creative and the Director of Marketing & Communications, with the objective to maintain our relationships with our internal and external stakeholders.
• The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic international team and will be based in Nairobi. This is a great opportunity for a customer champion with a passion for ensuring SMEs, learning, and development play a central part in Africa’s transformation.
• The Social Media & Content Marketing Intern is responsible for assisting in delivering quality and engaging content for different audiences on all our media assets as well as managing client relationships
Key Responsibilities
• Write compelling content including social media posts, blog posts, email marketing messages, presentation content and web copy
• Build and maintain a content marketing calendar to deliver purposeful content on our social media and community platforms
• Work closely with marketing teammates and other departments to create effective communications strategies that articulate our product’s core benefits properly and consistently
• Respond and direct customer responses/inquiries that come through our media assets including - calls, WhatsApp, email, social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and website
• Serve as an exemplary writer, consistent with AMI’s tone and mission. You write clean, concise, well-polished copy
• Database management – adding new contacts to our CRM database as well as labeling and managing the contact lists
• Engage with our audiences during events – live tweeting, live streaming etc.
• Support the marketing department in daily administrative tasks or any other tasks assigned

• A passion for content marketing and familiarity with content creation within various media platforms including social media

Education And Experience
• Undergraduate degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience OR current enrolment in a related BS/BA
• Familiarity with marketing computer software and online applications. Previous experience using customer relations or CRM systems will be an added advantage.
