JOB DETAILS:
We are looking for an experienced Senior iOS Engineer to join our Engineering team, joining a newly formed, mobile-focussed, competency area. In this role, you will be responsible for the setting and implementing of standards to enable the efficient delivery of high-quality mobile applications. You will be an integral member of a high-performing and cross-functional team and will report to an Engineering Manager. You must be based in one of these countries Nigeria, South Africa, Ghana, Kenya, or Rwanda.

What you'll be doing in the role:
• Contribute in delivering a mobile application for an exciting African e-learning video-streaming platform.
• Extensively collaborate with the team on the requirements and their implementation including process improvements and domain analysis.
• Implement designs which realize customer value, focussing on quality through testing, automation, and review.
• Conduct critical analysis of the applications you work on in an effort to identify opportunities for improved customer satisfaction and user experience.
• Write and implement code that is idiomatic, maintainable, and efficient.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks while rectifying bugs and enhancing application performance.

We are looking for someone with
• At least 5 years of experience in iOS development
• Extensive knowledge of idiomatic implementation using Swift
• A strong understanding of the RESTful API paradigm (GraphQL and Firestore experience is definitely a bonus)
• A strong understanding of OOP and SOLID principles
• Well-versed in design patterns such as MVC and MVVM
• Experience working with iOS frameworks such as AVFoundation, CoreML, CoreData, URLSession and Keychain
• Thorough understanding and extensive experience with the implementation of automated testing
• Experience with the distribution of iOS applications
• A good working knowledge of the use of git
• Experience within an agile development environment
