Senior Sales Operations Manager
Job Purpose:
We are recruiting a results-oriented, data-driven professional to join our team as a Senior Sales Operations Manager to lead and manage all sales operations, account managers and sales agents across Kenya. The key objective of this role is to grow incremental and new sales for the business while simultaneously increasing client retention. The ideal candidate will also develop a route to market strategy of reaching into low income communities and rural areas as well as developing and implementing new sales processes.
You will create an ambitious high-performing and metric-driven sales team by creating a shared sense of purpose, excellent communication, and investing heavily in coaching, training and development of your team thus equipping them with the tools and capabilities to create, develop, and transform client relationships. You will work collaboratively with other supporting departments to ensure the success and attainment of the sales targets.
This is a senior-level position, and our ideal candidate must have considerable proven experience in sales particularly with an emphasis on driving sales, team leadership and fostering collective success in a fast-scaling startup or FMCG sector.
Core Job Responsibilities:
• Analyze market and sales data, delivering reports on your findings to other key decision-makers and crafting your sales strategy accordingly.
• Refine customer segmentation, assist with territory management, and create and execute a plan to enhance renewal and upsell processes
• Own the end-to-end process of tracking the sales funnel and operational metrics and delivering regular insights to the business; define and deliver techniques to improve the funnel performance for sales management.
• Devise high-level and operational sales strategies and plans in response to emerging trends and opportunities.
• Track and analyze key metrics including pipeline growth, win/loss rates, and quota attainment.
• Enhance sales productivity by enabling the team to work smarter by simplifying processes.
• Directly assist teams in developing high-value clients and help with on-boarding and training new sales talent.
• Maintain a detailed understanding of existing sales processes and identify areas open to process improvement.
• Implement new processes, educating sales operators and teams on how best to utilize new tools and methods
• Create monthly content for executive presentations and board reporting.
• Maintain regular check-ins with Sales Managers/Sales Representatives and others who contribute to opportunity development to determine how sales opportunities are tracking against plan and identify any problems for internal review and problem solving.
Qualified candidates should have:
• Significant experience in sales operations as a sales manager with proficiency in creating reports, optimizing processes and training new hires.
• Bachelor's degree in Sales and Marketing required; technical or business-related field preferred.
• Proven ability to devise and execute a highly effective sales strategy.
• Advanced Excel skills with a strong understanding of lead generation and offline marketing strategies.
