Position Title: Senior Product Manager
Summary
TaroWorks is an offline mobile extension of the Salesforce platform. Our customers are non-profits and social enterprises that use datat o drive their operations in the last mile where there is inconsistent connectivity. TaroWorks customers are in a variety of sectors including but not limited to renewable energy distribution, disaster relief, graduation programs, and WASH.
The Senior Product Manager is responsible for managing the operations of Product Delivery.
This position requires a passion for understanding how our customers use our products and delivering high quality software, while maximizing the team’s sprint velocity. Reflective of most start-up environments, this is very much a hands-on position, with on-the-job training and in-the-trenches tactical work required.
Reporting and relationships
The Senior Product Manager will report to the Director of Product and Professional Services. She will oversee our software development teams and supporting product team members.
Essential Job Functions
Create Delightful Customer Experiences: Design successful new features and improvements on existing ones.
• Create wireframes and product requirements documentation/specifications as needed to convey key product concepts both internally and externally
• Propose designs and incorporate feedback from the following stakeholders: Customers, Tech Leads (Mobile and Salesforce), the TaroWorks team, and outside consultants for Architecture and UX considerations as needed.
• Ensure high quality software is released into the marketplace by driving QA processes, including User Acceptance Testing
• Define how each feature will be measured as successful once in the marketplace, and define a mitigation plan for unsuccessful features
Team Management: Drive product development from design to delivery.
• Responsible for overseeing all task activities assigned to the Team are performed in a timely manner with minimal technical debt
• Define and drive agenda for Stand-up, Product, QA, Sprint Planning, Roadmap and retrospective meetings
• Maintain data integrity, completeness and accuracy in team tools for work tracking and reporting
• Remove and/or minimize hurdles for software development and finding the right solution to issues
• Track the status of deliverables and any decisions made regarding outstanding issues
• Ensure team understands and commits to specific sprint goals and follows through accordingly
Leadership: Represent TaroWorks to customers, vendors and internally.
• Keep team members engaged, involved and informed
• Give presentations internally and externally about the TaroWorks product that non-technical audiences can understand
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying deficiencies and delivering mitigating solutions
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Salesforce Administrator and/or Salesforce App Builder Certification.
• Experience managing products in an Agile environment required.
• Demonstrated experience managing software development projects with multiple stake-holders, driving issues to resolution and shipping products.
• Deep understanding of how our customers deploy and use TaroWorks and TaroWorks Enterprise.
• Mature understanding of QA best practices.
• Strong written and verbal skills; ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical peers and ability to effectively communicate with end users, business decision makers, and software developers.
• Outstanding prioritization skills, and the ability to analyze costs and benefits to drive decision making
• Fluency in English required.
Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer science or related field
• Six or more years of experience managing the software development cycle
• Experience with Atlassian suite of products: JIRA, Confluence, and Bitbucket
• Experience working with remote software development teams is a plus.
• Experience with supporting and deploying mobile applications is a plus.
• Experience with enterprise software or inventory management is a plus
Availability
The Senior Product Manager will be expected to work a standard work-week of 40 hours plus additional hours as necessary to get the job done. The position may require international travel, up to 10% of the time. However, the entire organization has been grounded since the beginning of the pandemic.
