JOB DETAILS:
Reporting to The Head of Department, Theology Business unit Theology
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE
• PhD in Theology, specializing in Pastoral Studies (Pastoral Care and Counseling) from a recognized university.
• Licentiate in Theology from a recognized institution.
• Certificate of Ordination preferably from a Protestant Church and experience in Pastoral Ministry.
• Minimum of four (4) publications in referred Journals OR two (2) articles in refered journals and two (2) book chapters OR a journal article and a book in a relevant field.
• Strong skills and effectiveness in teaching, mentorship and practical supervision of students.
• Professional growth as evidenced through presentations at professional meetings, consultations in education, government, and business or to organization in one’s specialization, evidence of commitment to lifelong learning through continuous education activities.
• Demonstration of initiative and involvement in development of academic programs.
• A Continuous engagement in research.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Head of Department in the Faculty of Theology.
• Teaching and practical training of students in Pastoral Studies from undergraduate to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) level in line with curricula schemes, policies,
• processes, and procedures.
• Conducting quality research to enhance the scholarship, visibility, and intellectual contribution of the University.
• Evaluating students through continuous assessments and examinations.
• Participation in curriculum and program review and development.
• Developing linkages with relevant players in the industry.
• Professional Networking and Resource Mobilization.
• Mentoring of students in academic and spiritual nurture.
• Enforcement of best practices in teaching, training and research for improved performance and achievements.
• Implementing change initiatives to achieve desired university plans and culture.
• Ensuring consistent Christian behavior in line with the university’s vision and mission.
• Performing any other official duty assigned by the Head Of Department (HOD)
