JOB DETAILS:
Senior Full Stack Engineer

The role
The incumbent is responsible to ensure that he builds web applications infrastructure, front-end, back-end, and APIs with high security, architectural, and performance standards. The incumbent will also be responsible for ensuring that the company server infrastructure is up to date and is always working.
This is a unique role to join a fast-growing and high-impact company as we start our rapid expansion across Africa.

Key responsibilities
• Handle and coordinate the front-end and back-end architecture, development, and testing of systems and applications being built.
• Work with the current tech stack or any other technologies that the company might adopt in the future. These include: Python, PHP, JS, CSS, Vue js, Vanilla js, XML, Laravel, MySQL, and MySQL server.
• Design and implement scalable web service APIs.
• Develop DB schemas and work with SQL and NoSQL DB systems.
• Develop your tasks and coordinate with the rest of the team members to ensure solutions are implemented, tested, and completed on time and to the right standard.
• Identify bottlenecks in the different company solutions and come up with novel ways to solve them.
• Take the lead on project implementation and prepare tech requirement documentation and test cases for the projects in development.
• Ensure performance and cross-browser optimization are done on mobile and desktop devices during development.
• Ensure SEO optimization and sitemap infrastructure are done and are often updated.
• Ensure that all products or features that you build adhere to high development and resolution standards that meet both technical and consumer standards.
• Work on any other tasks assigned to you by the CTO or CEO.

Requirements
• At least 5 years of experience developing robust web applications and systems.
• BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
• A very good understanding of web applications and programming languages such as Python, React.js, Vue.js, HTML, JavaScript, jQuery, REST APIs, PHP, MySQL, Ajax, and SQLite.
• Knowledge of software development best practices.
• Experience in API integrations - SMS/WhatsApp notification integration; payment gateway integration, Google Map API integrations.
• A good understanding of security principles regarding web applications.
• Attention to detail.
• A wiliness to learn and work in a fast-paced start-up environment.
• Flexible and willingness to help in other areas if need be.
